Miró! Poetry and light

Miró!
Poetry and light

Edited by María Luisa Lax Cacho

Rome, Cloister of Bramante
16 March to 10 June 2012

He was for many years that Rome was home to a comprehensive review of the work of Joan Miró. And not only. Because the Cloister of Bramante you can see over 80 papers, the Catalan genius, never reached before in our country, including 50 oils of surprising beauty and of great size, but also pottery, bronzes and watercolors. And thanks to the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca, which holds out most of the artist and has granted an extraordinary way to preview his Italian works.
The exhibition Miró! Poetry and light, will be held in Rome at the Cloister of Bramante from 16 March to 10 June 2012, and is produced and organized by Arthemisia Group and Culture 24 HOURS - 24 HOURS Group, with DART Cloister of Bramante.

The curator of the exhibition is María Luisa Lax Cacho is internationally regarded as the best expert work of Miró. The exhibition will cover the entire artistic production of Miró, born in 1893, between the years 1908-1981. A special focus will be devoted to works created in thirty years in which Miró lived in Mallorca, namely from 1956 until his death in 1983. A particularly happy period for the artist, who finally had at his disposal a large studio and a workshop, contact with nature, his muse, who gives life to new ideas and that makes him start multiple works.
He mentioned the importance of the workplace for Miró. Therefore it was decided to completely rebuild the exhibition spaces of the study showed that Miro created his masterpieces. You will be able to see all the objects, brushes and tools that the original artist used, and which have been preserved thanks to the Foundation.

"The meeting between fantasy and control, prudence and generosity, which perhaps can be considered a feature of the Catalan mentality may explain, at least in part, the fundamental basis of art and personality of Joan Miró." So Dorfles wrote in an essay on the artist Catalan. That 's why I think it would be beneficial to the frame of the Renaissance Cloister of Bramante as counterpoint to the spirit multiforme Miró and his language made up of spots, graphics, splashes, fingerprints, abrasions, stitches and nails.
In the exhibition you can admire, among other masterpieces, oils Femme dans la rue (1973) and Untitled (1978), the bronzes as Femme (1967), including the sketches for the mural for Harkness Commons-Harvard University , all from the collection of Palma de Mallorca.
